A Search for a Better Way.

Our Story

TerraForm Projects emanated from our own pursuits in personal growth and healing, as well as our exploration into the connection between the body, mind, spirit and natural environment. We were also trying to make sense of the pervasive problems we see in the world today: the rise in mental illness, suicides, cancer and heart disease, global pollution, war, and the degradation of our ecosystems. The issues facing our society impact us all on a global, macro scale, but we realized they ultimately arise from the level of the individual. This awareness pushed us further into exploring the path of self-discovery, and towards redesigning the physical spaces in which we heal.

We had become dissatisfied with the fast-paced, medical practitioners we attended since childhood, who were largely focused on treating the symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of an illness. Often it seemed our doctors believed the cure for the disease and the alleviation of the symptoms were one and the same. The allopathic system was also quick to treat ailments with antibiotics and pharmaceutical drugs, and appeared disconnected from the holistic and interdependent nature of the healing process.

In our search for something better we found naturopathic and integrative medicine, breathwork, meditation, psychedelic-assisted therapy, cold-water immersion and sauna, yoga, and other movement practices. Our personal experience with these various healing modalities taught us the undeniable relationship between the health of our physical bodies, mind, spirit, and our connectivity to the natural environment.

At this time, we were witnessing a significant shift and momentum in research, development and adoption of more holistic medical practices, and we watched as that movement began seeping into the communities around us. As we sought out these practices, we noticed they often utilized the same dreary and sterile facilities of the legacy medical system. In order to truly optimize and assist the healer and self-seeker in their pursuit of personal development and health, we felt it was necessary to reimagine the physical space in which the healing process took place.

This sentiment inspired the vision behind TerraForm’s healing center: an architecturally light, calming and peaceful space, deeply grounded in the natural environment and surrounding landscape. It’s a space that emits a healing quality, and enhances the healers’ and clients’ abilities to heal. We envision these spaces, not only as places of healing and self-discovery, but as a way to bring together a group of like-minded individuals into a larger community who are all seeking to build a better world.
