In our pursuit to reimagine spaces for healing, we have identified six elements that our projects embody: Diverse Healing Modalities, Connection to Nature, Land Stewardship, Food + Water, Bathhouse Elements, and Community.
These components are vital to creating a place that enhances the practitioners’ and patients’ ability to heal. Whether in the Pacific Northwest or the American Southwest, these core aspects will be present. The architecture of our facilities will change, by adapting to its location and embodying the regional design style of its geography, however, each project will remain consistent in its offering of these six fundamental elements.
We create spaces that provide an optimal healing environment, spaces that enhance the ability of both the client and practitioner to heal. To accomplish this, our project partners align with the vision to build a better world, to create spaces built in connection with nature that are intended for healing, self-discovery, and community-building.
Holding a shared set of values and intentions among the development team brings harmony at the onset of the job and creates an immutable energy that permeates all aspects of the development. It is expressed through the cohesive and conscious purpose of the team, the design principles, building materials, construction methodologies, the relationship between the structures and the surrounding environment, and the operations of these spaces after the project is built.
Each element of the project is created with thoughtful intent. The sites elicit feelings of safety, peace, calm, transcendence, awe and wonder. Each structure embodies specific feelings and emotions based on its unique purpose and function. For example, ceremonial spaces produce a sense of sacredness, power, and divinity, while therapy suites bring forth a sense of protection, safety, calm and peace.
We utilize sacred and bio-geometry, biophilic and biomimetic design, and healing patterns to bring beautiful projects to life. Beauty is a key principle in the design of our projects. It harmonizes mental and emotional well-being, while also promoting sustainable and regenerative construction. Beautiful buildings are cherished, well maintained, and preserved for generations.
We listen to the land to determine how and where to build and use light construction practices that respect the ecological resources of the site. Natural, locally and regeneratively sourced materials such as wood, stone, adobe, clay, straw bale, and rammed earth are prioritized.
The same careful and deliberate energy that is placed on the land, design, building materials and construction are also present in the relationship between all parties involved in the development process. Collaboration, compassion, honesty, and humility are integral values of our partnerships.
Our philosophy carries through into the maintenance and preservation of the land and structures, as well as in the management and operations of the businesses and people that use and occupy the spaces. Our philosophy is perennial and embedded in each phase of the project life-cycle.
